Luang Prabang was a lovely town, however crawling with tourists of course. With tourists come the super annoying touts.... No joke, Sarah and I were eating breakfast this morning and a tuk-tuk asked us if we wanted a ride....REALLY?! I'm not trying to eat or anything .... Off to a town that's NOT on the tourist track.... Nong Kiaw!

Kuang Si Waterfalls! It was rather pretty here, and this is just one of the many tiers of this waterfall. It's about an hours ride outside of Luang Prabang. Well worth the trip in my opinion because I wasn't to fussed over seeing temples. I have seen so many. There wasn't much else to do in this town for me. We had a nice day here!

This cutey little furry fella was such a sweety!!!!!!!!! Poor little thing got ran over a tuk-tuk and cannot use his back legs at all. He just pushes around with his two front paws...It broke my heart!!! However, what a trooper. He was happy as ever and just wanted to play. When I stopped petting him he would give me a little bark and then roll around on my feet. What a sweetheart.

Luang Prabang! We made it after a 7-8 hour night bus with sheer cliffs to our sides and hardly a road to drive on.... of course, we were dropped at the bus station rather than the city like we were promised. There is no surprise there.

Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang..... We were promised a decent bus. Ok cool. We booked it. When the time came to be picked up we were informed that our bus was late, however we are getting a even bigger and better bus! Just wait 30 minutes.... 1.5 hours later we get picked up with a regular bus and we ushered on, actually, practically pushed on because they were in such a rush.... Dude, we just waited two hours for you! Lol.... All you can do is laugh. PS- I would have hated to see what our original bus was if this was the bigger and better one. Yay for the seats on wheel too! -zero leg room-

Buddha in the Elephant Cave.... FYI.... the "elephant" is a rock that slightly resembles an elephant that's tucked away in the right hand corner of the "cave." The cave is more like a hole in the wall. O well... The other caves were cool!

Epic fail..... Just as I said, " Hey Sarah, watch out for these holes," as were trekking thorough a pitch black cave, I fall and slip into one. Luckily there was tons of mud to cushion my fall!

Blue Lagoon! It was super nice and refreshing to jump into. Unfortunately a few too many people for my liking. There was also a cave however since Sarah and I had a few more caves to go to this day we decided to skip this one. Plus.... it was apparently a bit dangerous to climb up to it. Of course, as I have mentioned.... Sarah and I are too accident prone. We can't afford injures on this trip yet. Maybe in another few weeks!

And one last tidbit for you...

At the National Museum of American History you can view Julia Childs' kitchen! Yes, her real kitchen, and not a replica. She donated it to the museum as-is, giving museum-goers a unique chance to see into her life. My guess is that she had another at the time :)

We spent most of our indoor time in D.C. enjoying the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. The displays were great and I had a lot of fun, but the descriptions left something to be desired. They seemed a little elementary to me, but then again the museum's main patrons were school kids yesterday, so perhaps they got it right. The museum has several different wings, with topics varying from black history to the history of food processing. My two favorite exhibits that we got to explore were: America On the Move (which focused on the history of transportation), and American Stories (which used artifacts to talk about varying different piece of US history, from politics to broadway).
