X-Country USA Music Tour #3 4 hours, 44 minutes agoNational Museum of American HistoryAnd one last tidbit for you…
At the National Museum of American History you can view Julia Childs’ kitchen! Yes, her real kitchen, and not a replica. She donated it to the museum as-is, giving museum-goers a unique chance to see into her life. My guess is that she had…[Read more]

X-Country USA Music Tour #3 4 hours, 48 minutes agoWe spent most of our indoor time in D.C. enjoying the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. The displays were great and I had a lot of fun, but the descriptions left something to be desired. They seemed a little elementary to me, but then again the museum’s main patrons were…[Read more]

Here, they show it in many places and Sarah and I actually sat down at a restaurant just so we could watch Friends! I love Friends… I was super excited. Sarah thought I was a weirdo. Today was an early start at 5:15 am to go snorkeling on the Molokini and Turtle Arches Snorkel tour. I reminded Jordan and Ashley that 5:15 am is really 9:15 am Colorado time so not so bad really. We checked in at Ma’alaea Harbor, and boarded the…[Read more]

Adventures in Laos 15 hours, 16 minutes agoWe tried again, unsuccessfully to leave Luang Prabang. Public transport really is quite dire in Laos. We’ve ended up buying tickets to go on a mini-van in the morning. It was kind of a case of “bus run if enough people”, so at least with the tourist orientated mini-vans we are sure to get there at some point tomorrow. we are heading to a…[Read more]

In reply to: Sarah posted an update in the trip Adventures in Laos Colourful things at night market. ViewI think it’s mainly geared towards tourists, although there did seem to be a fair amount of locals wandering about too. (Maybe these were domestic tourists though?) It’s set up every night, and a lot of stalls had similar things. There were tourist-y trinkets, (fridge magnets, keyrings, etc), all kinds of clothes, paintings, lamps, jewelry,…[Read more]

In reply to: Sarah posted an update in the trip Adventures in Laos Colourful things at night market. ViewSarah, is the market for tourists or for locals? I have been to some night markets in Asia. The things they sold were just cheap clothes, touristy housewares, t-shirts, etc.

You’re a brave mom filming the kids jumping off the cliff. My kids were teens the last time I had to watch that. I had a friend’s boy with me from France, and he didn’t cross his legs when he jumped — not good. lol
